ABOUT OUR FACULTY
Debbie Alcorta
Dorene Badgett
Teaching History and Qualifications: I have taught fifth grade at ACA for eleven years. I have a degree in Liberal Arts from CU Boulder and have gone to CMC Montessori School Training Seminars with the Bureau of Education and I have gone to Research ACSI training sessions and conferences.
Reason For Teaching: God gives us work. I enjoy learning along with the students.
Personal Mission Statement: I want my students to be active, confident learners.
Teacher Comments: Alpine Christian Academy continues to be a safe, healthy, rewarding place to learn.
Stan Badgett
Teaching History and Qualifications: I’ve taught at ACA for eleven years. I have a BA in Fine Arts and MLS in Language and Communication from Regis University in Denver, with additional graduate work at Bread Loaf School of English, Middlebury College. My poems have appeared in a number of literary journals.
Reason For Teaching: God has called me to teach. Teaching is profoundly joyful for me; a great privilege.
Personal Mission Statement: I want to communicate the truths of Scripture to my students. I want them to know and understand who God is, as he has revealed himself to us in his Word. Too often in our ure, sometimes even in the church, the truth is brushed aside as unimportant. If we really love God we will want to know him as he is.
Teacher Comments: My classes are characterized by lively discussions, with freedom to probe difficult questions. I encourage the trait of reasonableness: ability and willingness to reason.

Reason For Teaching: I teach because I want to make a difference in the world.
Personal Mission Statement: My mission as a teacher is to equip each student with a lifelong love of learning. To teach kids to believe in themselves and their abilities, and to love Jesus more than anything else, to live for Him and to find their value and world in Him.
Linda Collier
Marsha Hutson
Teaching History and Qualifications: I was an elementary school teacher for thirty three and half years, grades one through four. After I retired in 1997, I substituted but always hoped I’d be able to teach in a Christian school.
Reason For Teaching: I love helping children learn because they are so excited. They just “light up” sometimes!
Personal Mission Statement: By God’s grace and preparation, I want to be available to help any child unlock and open doors to scholastic and spiritual understanding.
Teacher Comments: In 2005, the “dream given”, brought fulfillment to my dream of teaching in a Christian school when I was prompted three times to apply for a position. Since it was God’s plan, I obeyed and came to ACA.

Reason For Teaching: God’s plan for this season of my life is to teach at ACA. It is something I love and enjoy doing.
Personal Mission Statement: My mission is to try to make learning a positive experience with hands on teaching to show each student a glimpse of what God’s plan is for their life academically and spiritually. To show them that they are loved and accepted.
Teacher Comments: My hope and prayer is that with Christ’s strength I will be the teacher He ants me to be. I can only do this with the help of the Holey Spirit.
