CLASS INFORMATION
Alpine Christian Academy Pre-Kindergarten Program
Alpine Christian Academy is committed to excellence starting with our Pre-Kindergarten program. We have a program designed with the best interest of the child in mind. With an experienced and caring staff we want each child and family to have the best Pre-Kindergarten experience possible.
We have created a beautiful, homelike environment for learning, socialization, character building and most importantly spiritual growth. Our goal is to make learning exciting and fun. Our Pre-kindergarten staff have developed a curriculum that is developmentally appropriate for children ages three and four. We understand that children at this age level love, and are excited to learn and this is reflected in our program. Each child works at his/her own pace and ability. Learning in the classroom is fun and exciting through phonics, hands-on-math, writing skills, science, Spanish, art, music, and play. We are committed to teaching through the most creative and innovative ways possible. Character development is taught through Bible stories and Bible verses as well as through individual assessment. As a staff we are actively involved in each child’s social and character development, as we focus on the individuals gifts and talents.
Our goal is to prepare a child for kindergarten by having taught them the following skills: letter recognition, basic phonics and letter writing, counting 0-100, number recognition 1-20, basic math skills, shapes, colors, and patterning. We also work on teaching them to follow directions, listening skills, playing with other children, communication skills, cleanliness, safety, and healthy eating habits.
If you have any question regarding our program or if you would like to come visit to see if our program is right for your child, please call our program coordinator Jodi Barr at 970-309-7757.

Good Shepherd
Good Shepherd is a form of contemplative Bible class for Pre-School through Middle School, focusing on the life of Jesus and the Hebrew culture of that time. The six-year teacher, Michelle Lloyd, has the children pray in Hebrew and learn about parables and miracles from a very hands-on teaching method. Each class celebrates Passover and Yom Kippur along with other Hebrew Holidays, while learning important life lessons that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Each class tradition is based on the commandments and promises of the Bible. Each class prays, sings and dances to worship songs, breaks bread in remembrance, lights a candle "Jesus is the light of the world," and has a main lesson, usually taught with hand-painted wooden figurines. Then the children break up to perform tasks that also teach small lessons like patience, service, love, and faithfulness. The atmosphere is peaceful but the lessons are powerful. Each child is encouraged and even nudged to grow close their Lord and Savior. This class has been a vital part of the curriculum for many years, and will continue as long as God wills.
